About this Speaker

Sian started working with The Wallich in 2008 with the Rough Sleepers Intervention Team in Bridgend. There, she championed service user involvement and volunteering.  In October 2013, Sian began to manage The Wallich’s Resident and Service User Volunteer Programme (RSVP) across Wales. Her role continued to expand in line with the organisation’s development and progression into co-production and creating opportunities for clients including developing innovative ways to engage and involve our service users. She is passionate about helping people to engage in their communities through heritage, arts, culture and sport.

After heading up the Participation and Progression team including Working in Sustainable Employment (WISE) and Building Opportunities, Skills and Success (BOSS) programmes, Sian was appointed as Deputy Director of Operations where she continued to lead on creative and innovative service delivery across all of our projects in Wales in addition to supporting our journey into becoming a Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) Organisation. In 2020, Sian was appointed as Director of Services and Support where she continues to oversee services across Wales.

Sian’s background is not in the third sector but has a unique perspective. For eight years, she worked for a solicitor with a Business Management degree. After having children, Sian made a conscious decision to leave her job in the corporate sector and put her skills to use helping people instead.

“I am passionate about people and believe that everybody has a gift to offer society, regardless of their background. Being homeless should not be a barrier to achieving goals or aspirations and I hope I go some way to helping people get where they want to be.”
